When we learned a mall had an ice skating rink, we knew Eliana had to try it. The age starts at 6, so it was perfect. They didn't have skates her size, we had to go a size up, but they worked fine for 30 minutes.
She was super uneasy on her legs at first. We also rented one of these "helpers" to help hold her up. She seemed super happy and never got discouraged. She had to stop and sit on it to ride from time to time since her legs got tired, but she kept standing up to try again.
By the time the time was up, she was able to stand up on her own with Kevin there ready to catch if she fell.
She had a great time! The rest of the day we spent pool side and I left my camera in the hotel room so I could just enjoy the time. It was such a relaxing vacation and we don't want to go back to the cooler weather tomorrow. But we're thankful to have some time to ourselves for even a short time.
