Greece from the sky!

Last weekend Kevin and I went on a two day trip to Greece, without the girls. I am helping with the preparations for a conference on the island of Evia this summer and needed to go look at the resort where it will take place. So we dropped the girls off with some good friends and left early in the morning. The first part of the flight wasn't too exciting. But once we started seeing the islands from the plane, we had fun taking pictures and trying to identify which one it is. 

From the plane window the pictures aren't too clear, but you can still see them really well.

This one is my favorite with the fogginess of the morning and seeing the mountains peep through. We'll be going at the end of June for the conference, which lasts for just a week, and then taking some extra much-needed vacation time at the end. We're looking forward to it!

Spring Easter Cookies!

The day before Easter we made some Easter cookies. This was the first time Karis has helped with the cutting and decorating. I had to supervise to make sure no finger licking happened during the process. There was one incident, but the hand was cleaned before she could do any damage to the goods. Whew!

The little one decided she wanted to use the sprinkles and ended up dumping a good portion of the container onto her plate. Then she just used her hands to pick them up and put them on the cookies. At the end, after all the cookies were decorated, she was able to eat what was left on her plate. 

The girls had fun and so did we!

A Fun Trip

While my mom was here these past two weeks we had a fun time showing her around. We visited lots of different places and took several short trips. 

The weather has been perfect for her time here. Not hot and not too cool. We enjoyed wearing our short sleeves and being able to splash in some water.

At this place there is a wading area where some fish come a nibble on your feet. The girls had a fun time putting their feet in the water. 

At the sea Karis wanted to get in the water again, but we held her back.

The first week

The first week of my mom's visit is almost over. I think she has had a good time seeing where we live, meeting some of the people and seeing the sights. Most of all, she has enjoyed playing with the girls.

We had tried to give her opportunities to eat the food and we still have more to eat in the coming week. She says she will eat anything and that is a good attitude to have for foreign travel.

I think Eliana enjoys having Nana here too because she has a whole other person to show off to. And mom makes a big deal out of it each time. Sadly Eliana doesn't want to go to bed at night because she's afraid she will miss something. 

But we can't seem to get her up on that camel!
