Corn Sensory Bin

Thanks to Pinterest I have been motivated to be more creative in playing with the girls. I made this corn sensory bin for Eliana to enjoy, and to keep her busy for a while when I need to do something. She enjoyed digging in it and pouring the corn in a out of some measuring cups I gave her. She played for quite a while just enjoying something new and different to play with. Then I joined in and helped her think of different things she can do in the corn. We had a good time and it's a fairly easy clean up if she spills any. Karis wanted to join in, and at first we let her, but she couldn't resist the urge to put it in her mouth, so we put an end to her enjoyment. I'll be sure to post more about what other creative and fun things we do.

Daddy's Little Helpers

We were able to buy a used table from a family who are moving back to the States for only $25!  Why so cheap?  No chairs.  But thankfully we knew the store they bought them from and were able to get some to match.

So Kevin was busy putting them together...with a little help.

They first laid out the plans of how to put it together.

Then they went to work.

Of course, the help was only getting in the way (you know, too many cooks in the kitchen.)

Anniversary Dinner

Kevin and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at a beautiful restaurant close to our house, thanks to another couple who watched our girls for us so we could have some kid-free time to ourselves. Here is the yummy food we ate.

We started with some fried cheese and Greek salad.

Then our main course: kabob (chicken, lamb and beef with french fries - I don't think we ate the fries.

And we washed it down with some mint lemonade.

Here is the view we had at sunset:

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

We are very thankful to have a bathtub in our home here. Eliana has always liked her bath and we're glad to have one for her.  But for Karis, it's not really practical just yet.  It's pretty deep and narrow, so it would be difficult to be able to reach her well and keep her from slipping a lot.  So we bought this little pink tub to give her baths in until she's a little bigger.  She really loves her bathtub and loves to play in the water.  We've taken some video (which we will not be posting on the site, sorry) of her splashing and having so much fun.  She's even gotten to be a little stinker by purposefully taking cupfulls of water and dumping it onto the floor. What a silly little baby we have!
