Pope Sighting!

This morning the Pope made it to our town to visit with the people and lead the mass at the Catholic church. There were tons of people here to see him, even some who were not Catholic. It was really great to be able to walk from our house up to where the outdoor mass was being held. We took the girls with us and their cute faces helped us to make it in, even though we didn't have a ticket.

At first this (below) was our view of the stage, trying to see through the massive amount of press there to video and photograph the event. But I was able to move to another place where a kind photographer used my camera to snap the pictures you see above.

Apparently Jesus made it to the event as well.

This morning the Pope flew over our house from where he was coming from in a helicopter. The girls were very interested to know what was going on, but of course they didn't quite get it. But someday I'll show them these pictures and they will be happy, I hope.

A Great Day for a Beach Trip

We have been wanting to visit the beach for a while now, since the weather has warmed up. Finally we were able to today and enjoyed it so much. There was a lot of wind and the water was really high with a lot of waves, so we couldn't get in too much. But we still had so much fun together as a family.

Karis broke out in song at one point and I captured her on camera getting very emotional with the waves. Soon Eliana decided she wanted to eat, so we took a break and ate some food. I still have to figure out how to keep the sand from getting into everything.

We played for a while longer and then headed back home. It was such a nice day and we hope to head back there again real soon!

Trip to the Zoo

We have had some busy days, so I haven't taken a lot of pictures. But we were able to go to the zoo today, so I snapped a few there. Eliana found some grass to roll down the hill. We don't have grass where we live.

And she loves to feed the birds in the bird aviary.

We bought some season passes, so we hope to visit often!
