Time to Celebrate!

This week has been a milestone week for Eliana. She graduated from her newborn size diapers into size 1. On Tuesday morning when I went to change her I tried to put on the newborn size and decided it just wouldn't fit anymore. Yay! She has also started to outgrow her newborn size clothing as well. Her yellow sleeper is too short now - can you believe she's too tall for something?!?!

Another interesting thing she did was fall asleep on the floor all by herself. Everyday we spend some time stretching out on the floor and we play with toys. The other day when I went into another room for a brief moment, I came back to see her like this. Too cute!

This week she has also started grabbing her shirt with her hands. Daddy says she's showing off her muscles.

And when we go to change her diaper on the changing table, she likes to look behind herself out the window. I think she likes to look at her pink curtains. I'll try to get a better picture of her doing this, but this one will work for now.

Look How Big I Am!

At Eliana's one month pediatrician appointment she weighed in at 8 lbs. 9 oz. and 20 5/8 inches. She's growing so much, but she's just in the 30-40 percentile for her age. She's starting to find her voice. She coos and grunts a lot. She even smiles a little bit. We finally caught a couple of smiles on video, so we thought we'd share it with you. Also, here is a picture of her showing off her "I've Grown" sticker from the doctor.

Happy 1 Month Birthday, Eliana!

Today Eliana is officially one month old. We had to take some pictures to show you how much she has grown. Mommy and Daddy had fun setting up the scene and taking her pics. She's such a good baby and she cooperated so well. We're proud of her!

Nothing New To Report

We didn't really have anything to report this week. But we just wanted to share some cute pictures of Eliana and upload a video of her for the grandparents to see. Enjoy!

Daddy Time

During her first week home I was the one to feed Eliana night and day - we've been trying out this breastfeeding thing, and well, Mommy feeding baby is just how it goes. Kevin would help out by changing her diaper and getting her ready for feedings (a task she really hates and lets us know it!) As the week progressed we noticed that anytime Kevin would hold Eliana she would always cry, even when she wasn't hungry or dirty. Then it dawned on me, Eliana hasn't been having her Daddy Time. I thought, maybe if Kevin feeds her a bottle, at least once a day, that would help her establish him as a provider and comforter, as well as Mommy. So each day Kevin and Eliana have Daddy Time: Kevin gives her a bottle and they spend some quality time together talking and eating. We've deinitely noticed a bond starting and I'm so glad. It makes me think more about our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Each day we need some Daddy Time with Him. If we don't, our relationship is strained. So everyday I try to have some quality time with my God, who answered our prayers for the little baby girl, who is already teaching us so much.
