During her first week home I was the one to feed Eliana night and day - we've been trying out this breastfeeding thing, and well, Mommy feeding baby is just how it goes. Kevin would help out by changing her diaper and getting her ready for feedings (a task she really hates and lets us know it!) As the week progressed we noticed that anytime Kevin would hold Eliana she would always cry, even when she wasn't hungry or dirty. Then it dawned on me, Eliana hasn't been having her Daddy Time. I thought, maybe if Kevin feeds her a bottle, at least once a day, that would help her establish him as a provider and comforter, as well as Mommy. So each day Kevin and Eliana have Daddy Time: Kevin gives her a bottle and they spend some quality time together talking and eating. We've deinitely noticed a bond starting and I'm so glad. It makes me think more about our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Each day we need some Daddy Time with Him. If we don't, our relationship is strained. So everyday I try to have some quality time with my God, who answered our prayers for the little baby girl, who is already teaching us so much.
