Eliana has been wanting to dye eggs for Easter. We went together to the store and helped me pick out 12 eggs, ones that didn't have as much chicken poop still on them! She was very careful to pick out just the right eggs. I boiled them and let them cool overnight. Finally today, we got to color them.
We had just been to the park in the afternoon and then ate at one of our favorite restaurants, so when we got home Karis donned her smock and we got to work.
There were six colors: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, and purple. Each girl got six eggs and used each color. Karis kept wanting to stir hers in the cup!
Thanks to Pinterest I found this awesome way to help the girls "do it themselves".
Karis didn't have much patience and wanted to pull out the egg right after it was first put in the dye. But I told her to wait and see that the color will get brighter the longer it's inside.
The colors were really bright and had a kind of shimmer on them. You can't really tell from the pictures, but it's really pretty.

Dying eggs each year reminds me of the way Christ changed me into a new creation, the old (white dirty, chicken poop outside) me...
...into a new, more beautiful creation! Thanks to Easter and the death and resurrection of Christ, He made this possible.
