On Friday our crate finally arrived! This is what it looked like before it was unpacked (we only had one; the other belonged to our teammates.)
Here is the truck bringing our stuff to our apartment. The guy with the hat is the truck driver. He only spoke Arabic, so Kevin got lots of community time that day!
And here is all the boxes stacked and waiting to be opened.
The aftermath:
On January 6, 2012 we packed up a lot of our belongings and said goodbye for an unknown amount of time. So it's been 10 months since I've been able to use my Pampered Chef pots and pans, since I've been able to print anything, or look at our wedding pictures. But it's not been too bad. But it sure feels nice to have our things again...to be able to rock Karis in the glider rocker, to read the books Kevin loves to read, and to smell the clothes we saved for the girls. But most of all, the girls have loved having their toys. We didn't crate many toys. Just a few of the favorites. And they have had a great time getting to know them again.
Eliana is a little older now, so she has enjoyed the doll pack and play a little more than before. She's loving reading all the books we had packed up. Karis has sure loves the piggy bank and mailbox. She's at the perfect age to really get into those. After we pick them up from school they love to go right into the bedroom and play.
Hopefully soon we can get some pictures on the wall to really call this place home.
