First Day of Preschool

Eliana went to her first day of preschool at a local, Arabic-speaking school today. We've been telling her for a while now that she will be going to a big-kid school and that she will have so much fun. She's been excited and ready to go. She walked into class so brave, looking around at all the other kids. We showed her the different things in the classroom and helped her remember how to ask, "What is your name?" in Arabic.

After a few minutes we asked her if it was ok that we leave, and she said yes. Hoping she wouldn't start crying I prayed she would have a good first day and make new friends. When I picked her up later in the morning (it was a short day for the first day) I asked her all about her day and what she did. She said she played on the playground and played with play-doh. I asked if she made some new friends and she said yes, but she couldn't remember their names (which I don't blame her - they are different names - and I have a hard time remembering people's names here too!)

We're so glad our little munchkin is growing up and becoming a big girl. She also asked if she was 5 yet since she went to school, but I had to tell her no. She'll be 5 soon enough!
