Coloring Easter Eggs

Now that I (Mandy) am back home and back to normal, for the most part, we have started language back up again and living life as usual. I always want to do fun crafty learning things with Eliana, but with everything we have going on, it's hard to find the time to plan it all. But we did take the time to color eggs with her for Easter and she had a lot of fun doing it.

Yes, they do sell dye here, but it's in different, smaller packages (should have got a picture of it, but forgot). But they are liquid dyes instead of the tablets. And it takes about 5 minutes to dye the egg instead of just a few minutes.

It was difficult to wait for the eggs to dye, but once they did, she got really excited about the colors.

They were supposed to be a pastel color, but they turned out pretty dark and I really like these colors better.

Since the eggs come right of the chicken to the store (well, they do wash them off a little), I did have to wash them really good because a couple of them still had feathers and some brown smudges. Life in the Mid East!

Eliana was very careful with each egg not to drop it in too fast and break it. And I had her wear her pjs so that if she got any dye on them it would blend in, but I believe she came away clean!

We hope that in all the hustle and bustle of the season you each remember the real reason we celebrate. I asked Eliana what the day is on Sunday and she said, "Easter!" And then I asked her what is special about Easter and she said, "Jesus rose from the dead." So glad we are teaching her to love our God, for that is the reason we are here!
