Adventures in International Homemaking

My first baking adventure here in my new country...burnt brownies. Not really sure how to use this oven since it's in Celsius and doesn't regulate it's own temp. So I have to be on constant brownie watch to make sure they get done, but not burnt...FAIL! Well, I finally made pizza and it was a success! Yay! But you tell me what you think of the dials on this oven.

This is on the left side of the oven.

This is the right side of the oven.

Next is laundry. I think it's a German engineered washer. But I didn't really know how to use it. We had to have English directions printed.  And which symbol does what. We finally figured out at least how to do a load. So we are cleaning our clothes, but each time it takes about 75 minutes to go through 1 cycle. And it sounds like a jet engine when it goes through the spin cycle.

When the clothes are done washing we have to hang them up on the line outside...well, our line is next to a wall. Not just any wall, a dirty cement wall. So I have to hang them inside out and clean the line from any dirt so they don't get dirty from the line.

Lots of work...but someone has to do it!
